Hannah Ritchie has a new book about tackling climate change coming out on September 18th
“Clearing the Air” is available for pre-order now.
Hannah Ritchie, our Deputy Editor and Science Outreach Lead, published her first book, Not the End of the World, in 2024. It tackled seven of the world’s big environmental problems — climate change was just one of them.
Since that book came out, Hannah realized that people had a lot more questions about how we tackle climate change than she covered in that one chapter.
This led her to write her new book, Clearing the Air. It’s all about how we tackle climate change: covering everything from renewable energy and nuclear power to electric vehicles, heat pumps, minerals, carbon capture, and geoengineering.
Hannah said:
“My aim is to give people clear and honest answers to their questions, concerns, and doubts about whether we stand a chance (not to spoil the cliffhanger, but we do).
Many people are motivated and interested in how we move forward, but often end up drowning in the relentless flood of conflicting information and hot takes.
I hope that those who read it come away with a calmer and clearer perspective on what needs to be done, and crucially, how we get on with it.”
Clearing the Air will be released on September 18th in the United Kingdom. You can pre-order it now. Pre-orders make a huge difference for authors, as they convince bookstores to stock the book.
Stay tuned for its release in other countries!
